"April is Blood Wars Month in the Killeen Independent School District, marking the return of the Scott & White Hospital's blood bank-sponsored event.
"The concept of the blood wars started seven years ago as a student's project and became an annual event four years ago," Donald Williams, a teacher at Ellison High School in Killeen, said on Friday... The "wars" involve students and administrators from all four KISD high schools, as well as members of the local community. The schools compete for the Four Season Award and bragging rights for a year, for most donated blood."
