Post by: BMV1995 on April 07, 2008, 10:50:16 AM
Hello,

My friend has a PC with Win XP and I installed AH2 for him. :rock
The trouble is I can t login with my password and I can t make an account for him.
It always says : Can t connect to host. :furious
But the Internet is working perfectly well and we also tried puttting the Internet safety to zero (everything is either on low or enabled/prompt) and it still didn t work.
Can anyone tell me what to do?
Please HELP!!!! :(

Did you disable the firewall first? This will cause the symptoms that you describe.

Woah! Don't disable the firewall.

You may need to give the Aces High .exe file permission to access through the firewall.

Tell him to check his firewall and make sure aceshigh.exe is allowed through it.  If a router is causing the problems, then Aces High II uses a random subset of ports in the range of 2000-6000 for both TCP and UDP.

The easy way to test to see if a router or firewall is causing the problem for creating an account is to open a browser and then go to our main WEB page.  If the browser can open it, then it is a firewall blocking the game as the account informtion is sent to the WEB server over a different port.

If the browser cannot connect to our WEB page then it is an Internet related issue which needs to be addressed with the ISP.

Start-Control Panel -Windows Firewall- Top Part of the window you'll see exceptions.  -Click it- Then click add programs
