Gilze Rijen, Holland, August 19, 1943
(http://332nd.org/dogs/baumer/Milkrun.jpg)
This was a mission flown by the 303rd Bomb Group during the summer of 43. What started out as a simple "Milk Run" turned into a very bad mission for the 303rd. Due to haze and poor decisions by the lead bombardier the group attacked the German airfield at Gilze Rijen without any escort.
to accuratly recreate this mission you'll need to do the following;
extract mission and save to the offmiss folder-
http://332nd.org/dogs/baumer/milkrun.zip (http://332nd.org/dogs/baumer/milkrun.zip)
TERRAIN bob04
ARENA SETTINGS
Time- 16:15
Time multiplier- 1
FogVisibilityMiles- 10 miles
IMPORTANT NOTE
There's a bug with the first schwarm of Jg26. You can fly in any other schwarm and the mission will run properly.
Good Luck and Enjoy!

I suggest changing the airspeed of the FW190s before they warp to the battle area... Flying at less than 150mph takes forever!

But it does allow planes to get into formation easier.

Thanks,
I wanted to speed it up Anaxogoras but, like Sudz said it helps get everyone in formation. Also, I have to allow enough time for all the B-17's to take off and get into formation before warping them. I've been getting better at collecting the bombers more quickly so in my next mission I hope to reduce the time required but it will still be about 10 minutes before you can warp to the engagement area for the fight.
My next big mission should be posted later this week, I hope.

Baumer,
You might try taking the bombers off from different fields and warping them to fly together. As long as you watch the fuel it should be ok. Also, you can warp as soon as the bombers have got off the runway and got a little speed. The only reason to wait for them to form up is immersion.
One way to keep the interceptors from having to dredge through the bombers timing is to delay their takeoff by extending their briefing. (But at least try to make their time spent in briefing engaging perhaps a slide show of 190s in combat :)).

Thanks Sudz, Ill try that. I was having problems early on with the bomber formation warping and staying in formation. Perhaps now that I understand the speed and planning better I will try and move up the warp segments. All though, it's really cool to see the bombers all get into formation before they warp.
Thanks for the tip,
