My new looks good except for the sound card (And I suspect it's me and not the card.)  I use headphones in the game.  When I plug the mic and headphones into the mic and line in  jacks on the card I get constant feed from the mic to the headphones.  There must be a way to turn that off but I can't find it.  I don't like listening to myself breath, chew, and belch while listening to game sounds.   :lol  Can anyone tell me how to turn off the direct feed.

Other than that it works fine in the game.  I hear all the game sounds and Vox works as it should.

 Thanks,

Did you mean mic and line OUT jacks?  If not that might be your problem.

Do you have speakers attached?  If so do they have a headphone jack?  If so use that as you only have one line out on your card, or unplug the speakers and use the line-out on the card.

Thanks for trying to help.  I should quit working on problems and posting to the forum after midnight.  :lol  The headphones are in the line out jack.  The mic is in the mic/line in jack.

At lunch today I thought about the problem and visualized the Cteative Labs control panel.  There are two microphone sliders. One is in the playback section and the other is under record.  I had both turned up.  I suspect if I mute the one in the playback section my problem will be solved.

				Thanks,

I had already muted it and it seems to work fine.  I guess that mute only effects the playback.

What is your reason for this kilz?  I always mute the microphone on the output side.  How is turning the volume down better?

 Just curious
