Still experimenting, but lately I'm leaning toward Irish whiskey or Woodford Reserve. Scotch is good too. I plan on trying every whiskey known to man before I make up my mind.

It seems like the past couple months when I go out with buddy's the night starts out with coors lights, moved into jack and cokes, then shots of polish, Rumplemintz and Jameson. Speaking of which....It's Friday night! :D
-
Drambuie.
But I'm currently working on a bottle of Whaler's Rum.
-
I've yet to taste a single malt scotch I didn't like. Lately I've been enjoying Tanqueray gin with tonic. Goes down very easy. Something else I discovered recently after sampling a cold Maker's Mark in a liquor store, it was very good cold without ice. I've enjoyed Maker's Mark for years so I bought a bottle and stuck it in the fridge, at the back where it's coldest. Drink it straight, mmmmmm.

Nothing wrong with not drinking hard stuff. Nothing in the Human Handbook that says you have to drink to be a man. Some may drink water.... of course in their area that might be poison :P

I'm drunk as hell now, so take this reply w a grain of salt.
I suppose Bourbon is a name that predates the trademark you're thinking of (I'm pretty sure I've heard of a spirit called Bourbon), and it was given to this beer.. Bourbon is a name that also shows up in one cane sugar company over here (on this island), and they sell most of their product to Coca Cola, so it's probably not bad.
This beer (I posted) is from the Reunion Island. Its bottle (250ml I think) has two international prizes on the label, so it might be pretty good... I asked a friend to look for it in the Netherlands, but as far as I remember, he hasn't found it over there.
Personaly, I think it's just ok. Not bad, but not worth mention in Guiness either. Try and find it, and see for yourself :)
I dunno how they call em over states-side, but over here they call the lagers "blonde", "brown", and "red". I think this one should be brown.
-
Cool. ThanX

Hansa
Rignes Skjærgårspils
Hansa is good value for a cheap beer. I hear it's a bit of a 'rolling around in the gutter with a trolley full of it' sort of beer in Germany, though.
Rignes I have heard of but never tasted. Many Norwegian Black Metal bands seem to have the odd can of it in the background of some of their photos from time to time.
-
Xasthur, do you like 4X (XXXX) Beer?
-
:rofl
I think this is going to be good.
-
or my home made Mead ;) ;)
How do you make Mead. I have never had any and been wanting to try. Seems the drink of my forefathers. Well that and Rum.
I like a lot of beers. Mostly dark or red and full flavor. Although I did like that Samuel Adams Winter Ale.
-

You take five pounds of topsoil, add one gallon of water stir for 10 minutes and strain through cheese cloth.

Shiner Bock with a requilla chaser of course.

For beer, this week's selection is Pauliner Salvator:
Liquer has been Elijah Craig 18 for a while now.
As for wine... In a Red I've really fallen for the Chandon Pinot Meunier:
And in a White I can't find a better value than the Nobilo Icon Sauvignon Blanc:

smithwicks is best beer i've tasted. haven't had much though. i liked it better then guiness and sam adams. as for light beer i like heinekin. i usually drink bud or coors light or miller light though because i am cheap. as for liquor it's jameson, crown, and jack. word :rock
-
Smithwicks is good. You wont taste it immediately though. I had it w/ bangers and mash a few weeks ago.
If you hold the beer in your mouth for a couple of seconds you can taste the goodness that is smithwicks.
