Baseball has died along with the steroid stories. Football is king. Major league soccer is more interesting to me than Baseball these days.

I couldn't agree more... I have played baseball for a number of years. There's barely anything going on, as opposed to football, where every person on the field isn't picking their noses, in fear of getting nailed by somebody running as fast as they can...

53 players per team. 11 players play, 42 players sit.
That's 80% of the team (not counting coaches) who sit and do nothing at any given time.
It takes 3 1/2 hours to play a 60 minute game. That's 150 minutes of nothing happening per game. A game that is 71% standing around talking.
If it weren't for instant replay and John Madden et al talking about how great that last play was and what the next play might be, football would be about as boring as lawn bowling.

Holden...Football is played on the field. Not the sidelines. The coaches' aren't yelling and screaming to get your attention. They are yelling at the players' on the field. :rofl

OK.... When the head coach calls a play, he's doing nothing?

lol...Holden, your previous post makes' it look like you don't watch the onfield action, that you are only watching the sidelines. To tell the truth, Very few people would worry about what the 2nd and 3rd string players' are doing. Most are watching the action on the field, which usually only has a delay of 15-30 seconds' between plays.
And BTW, anymore in professional football, the Offensive coordinator calls the plays' than the HC, more often that not. The plays' come straight down from the booth.

Some shots of typical onfeild action:

Don't forget about the special timeouts for tv comercials, and waiting around for instant replay.
Honestly all profesional sports have pretty much lost their appeal for me. I get tired of grown men that make way to much money for playing a game whine about what ever it is they are whining about today.

Baseball died when they went on strike and canceled the World Series.
