I believe it would be a nice addition to the game if you add a nice subtle ship sound for when you are inside the tower of the Carrier.
Imagine, sitting on the deck of the CV or flying past any of the ships in the task group and hearing them moving through the ocean waters.
This is just a random thought.

That would be excellent, then I could change the default sound to that of a sea shanty
-
It'd be cool if we had the AA ruckus too.

I'd kinda like the air raid siren to be replaced on ships with: http://cag44.bravehost.com/sounds/GENQUART.wav

That one sounds great. :aok
-
I agree...maybe even a faint ship boiler sound?
-

Yep, they should learn to cross the T.
-
Cross the T? Most would say thats a English language problem but I bet few really know what that means.
<S> Halo46 for knowing some sea tactics.

Hmmm. Wouldn't bet on it. There's as many clueful history dweebs here as not. ;)

Nice to meet you too. Have a nice day.

I don't think that Arlo's comment was directed at you Halo. :lol
I don't think I've ever seen anyone crossing the T in a CV battle here yet.

Oh, ok, Nice to meet him anyways.
Edit: Neither have I, nor bringing all guns to bear on enemy threats, I usually end up watching the battle (and sinking) from the rear view of my little 5 Incher. (pun intended for comedic relief)

That's a collision alarm.
nah its also for some other things

DP's an Aggie? Ok, I'll keep that in mind. :t

When I have collided fleets off line (set one up on a course, switch sides and set the other one up to intercept) my computer freezes up.
I'd like to hear the ship's bell signal the time (2 bells, etc) and maybe have a bosun's whistle (boatswain's pipe) signaling orders to the crew too. :salute

Would be nice to just have different sounds for the 5" & 8" guns as right now they are both the same sound file :(

it is annoying about having no ships sounds. Great idea! :aok

I am with you on this one Arlo. :aok
Would make a great addition, plus other ship sounds. Also like the idea of different sounds for the 5 inchers and 8 inchers.
<S>!

Can you hear the ship sounds? I can...

That would be PERFECT.....have it timed to go off once the cv group starts blinking, and once every 2-3minutes while it blinks (or until it sinks).
Talk about realism!!

I've done it a few times. LYNX probably does it on a weekly basis. Happens many times (as to be expected) in the realism-based events.

Amen to the ship sounds. Maybe a possible rusting sound when a ship sinks. Thumbs up for this one :aok

What sound does rusting make exactly?

What sound does rusting make exactly?
Being a relatively slow (I think) chemical reaction, I don't think it should make any audible noise.
Also, I'd like to have the Navy Hymn as a sound as well.

Great idea Kermit and the sound of battlestations would be great!! I would also like the sound of the collision alarm when the ship takes a mortal hit (or is within a few hits of dying) followed by a call to abandon ship... :aok Can we get some seagull sounds too for when I'm sitting on the bridge with Kermie? :) :huh

How about a klaxon with an "abandon ship" blaring as she goes stern up?
