This is a kinda funny story.I dont know dates or years but its a good read for a laugh.Few years back (i ll guess 2)BEARKATS,AKA HUSKY01.was staying the night at my house.He and my boy same age ,have played sports all threw school,and i ve coached him in most of those sports.Anyway he was over they were doing whatever hanging out i suppose,i decided i would hook up joystick headphones and fire up the game...I dont think it took 3 secs and bearkats is makeing all kinds of fun of me my headphones,joystick and whatever else.....Now im guessing the next baseball game we were playing im on the bench coaching well yelling at 17yr olds and hes asking whats this whats that how this who that....
To make a long story short,he goes from making complete fun of a old dude playing with a joystick to A AOM SQUAD MEMBER TO IN CHARGE OF FSO FOR THERE SQUAD TO GOD KNOWS WHAT ELSE.Plus i hear hes not to bad a stick either......
i joined and started playing because 4 guys from another gagrage in my company played in 2000,BTWim the only one left...

Found it by accident probably searching for pictures or something.
Thought it was the coolest thing I ever saw, although that was AW.
1.) WWII aviation?
2.) Fly around with other dudes?
3.) Shoot at them?
4.) They have a 109?
5.) That I can fly?
6.) And combine #2 and #3?
Where is my credit card?

I haven't gotten anyone hooked. I kinda keep it quiet that I'm an adult woman, married w/kids... and hooked on a computer game. It's not as if I needed any help being the neighborhood nerd, anyhow. :D

Found the game by chanse back in 2000 and has been hooked ever since. Have managed to stay away for a couple of short stints, but it keeps sucking me back in. :D

He probly wouldnt remember it but TeeArr helped me figure out my views about 4 years ago.
Once I could see what was shooting me down I was hooked. :lol

I was one of he two week noobs who tried aces high after seeing a couple of commercials on the wings channel,( now the military channel), who stayed. Been playing about 6 or 7 years. Introduced Vilkas to the game about 2 years ago. He keeps telling me is is going to quit when his 6 month subscription runs out, but he always renews, lol.

I never was the type to play any online video game especially some cheesey RPG or some game useing flying turtles and rats or whatever else they can come up with. But years ago i seen a link on some website about AH so i took a look and thought to myself here somethin i can get into. No flying chickens (except rooks) and no casting spells and picking up magic pickles or other rediculous things like that. I WAS HOOKED after a few days. :salute

Hotsauce: Well, I was on last night and some dweeb in a Spit tried to get on my six and I blew his wing off in my 109K4.
HomeBoy: Hotsauce, you are in such denial it's scary!
Hotsauce: I could be doing important things with my life like introducing myself to my wife and children! Man, those 30mm cannon on that K4 are awesome!

I've gotten my two sons hooked on AH2, but only let them play offline. As for myself, I was looking for a flight sim when I found AH1 by accident one day. After a week in the TA I got up the nerve to go into the main arena and finally figured out how to navigate around the map to find a fight, and overheard two German players talking to each other at a base I went to and was so excited that I could fight real Germans! :lol I've been hooked every since.So :salute all the guys from far away lands. Listening to GHI,Lyric,Lynx,Lusche,WingZero and countless others have given me hours of enjoyment. :aok

I Blame all this on a friend of mine named JAMS from the old AW days. He got me started by telling me all these stories of flyin WWII airplanes and talking on Vox to peeps from all over the world. Played AW for about 3 years until EA killed it in Nov of 01. Started getting DT's after about 5 months and heard about AH from some AW buds and decided to give it a try. 6+ years later I'm still here. It's like crack. :D

I got alot better flying with them. But I didnt join till after a year or so of playing.
I did get my good friend to start playing. 1sum41. He had always done offline practice for AHII. Till he got really good with it. So I let him play on my online account till he got his own. :D

Just to add some more to the story I do remember that night kinda well. It was just over 3 years ago and I member josh and I where talking about sleeping out back for the night, but since there was some scary creepy evil goth chick that lived behind him I was spooked and wanted to stay inside for the night. :lol Next thing I know as Josh and I are playing I think Halo2 it was I see tater sitting on the computer talking into a head set to 999000; I think it was. Flying around in the middle of nowhere in some smurfy looking bombers :D Then I said something along the lines of like victor charily limia coach go get um! I also managed to sneak a few other funny comments in as well before he actually started to get mad at me. :lol Then two weeks later I was actually asking him how to get set up and fly as well as what I needed etc... I am glad that he got me into Aces High though. Best online game Ive ever played:)

My brother was a small time AW player back in the day, but when I heard about the pricing the practical part of me went as far as "Uhh, that looks really cool!" He migrated away from AW into something called "Real Life" and I didn't hear more about it.
Then back in '04, he brought his laptop and gear with him on a visit, and set up a little LAN game for us. Within minutes, I was good and hooked! Used to go to this strategy game or that every couple months, but since AH I haven't felt the urge to try anything else for a long, long time. Since then, I've spread the addiction to a teen who became an aeronautical engineer...and gotten a few others to try it out.

I was playing xbox live at the time didnt even have a pc :O I was in an americas army clan.We were into it big time.I was the xo and the guys made a web page for the clan...They kept buggin me to get a pc so i could ck it out.. So i went to wally world finally and got a $600 dollar emachine...Well I saw the aceshigh commercial and thought that has 2 be a crock :lol Well I tried it out and here i am dont even own an xbox anynore :D Tried to get my co from americas army to join.. He tried it out but was 2 much for him I guess..Havent seen them guys since feb 06..Funny thing is I was gonna get a xbox360 instead if they were in stock but they werent :rock

Same thing here SHawk, but right after I say "Can I land my kills first", the 5-yr old boy ask if he can watch and then the wife stomps out of the room!
My wife knows the 'lingo' now so she understands things somewhat better than she did 9 year's ago when we met and I was starting out with AW.
