:salute It is pretty sad that we have no national memorial to this group of patriotic people. He felt so strongly that he joined at 15!

My father fought in WWI.He was in the Coast artillery, and fired the big 16 inch railway guns.My Dad fell asleep one night in 1970,and never woke up.He was very patriotic, and proud to have served his country. The sad thing is he lost one of his sons that had been a artillerymen in the 36th Texas division,WWII,to a traffic accident in 1950.He lived long enough to see his youngest son go off to war,and to hear my Dad tell it,I won the war all by myself.Soon most all of the WWII vets will be gone, then Korea,Viet Nam,etc.Sometimes I sit around and think about it,and get all emotional.

My grandpa did both world wars, unfortunately he died before I was old enough to hear any stories from him.
