what are the optimum 3d settings for ah. NVIDIA GEforce 5200.
Have been getting low frame rates since last update. Fps held
steady at 59fps before update now varies considerably.

The setting depend heavily on your machine. Each is different, so you just have to mess with them. A 5200 is a pretty weak video card. Makes sure you do not have any antialison on in your video card setting, and you might have to drop your texture size down a bit too.

There is no way you were at 59 fps. in the game while flying around. Check That, if you were at 10k no clouds, ak, cons, or friendly's...Then mabey and you have it set to unlimited. Please post accurate Fps. Remember people trying to get more out of a machine use theses forms to make a decision on purchasing hardware. Again Please keep it accurate...

i run up to 45-60 frame rates in normal flight (nothing around me but a couple of freindlies or one or two enemey)
when the action gets going or if im very low to the ground in a huge furball my frame rate drops to around 17-35
im running a geforce 6200 oc 256mg (another crappy card)
i would suggest minimum settings for you 128 texturres and nothing on in nview no antialiasling nothing.
try that and see what happens.
right now i run at 256 textures and preloaded
main issue i have is a driver freeze and a system reboot ocasionaly while playing (aggravating as hell but cant get a new card yet)
still playable but i would be a lot better at the game if i could see corectly and shoot corecltly without bad graphic artifacts and frame rates jumping around.
gonna build my own system when i have the money and no way am i using vista.
my system has 2gigs of mem so i know its the vid card causing the problems. though i may be trying to do too much with an older pentium processor 1.8 ghz i think.

I just got a Geforce 8600. my average frame rate B4 I got it was around 15, now I hold steady at 60 running the hi-res textures.

With the 5200, you should be running NVidia driver version 61.77 (best one for the old 5000 series), and in the game you should set the "Maximum Texture Size" to 256 and the game resolution no higher than 1024x768.
If your computer system is relatively clean, with few background processes and no virus/wrom/spyware, the game should be playable.

hey skuzy what would be the best drivers for my nvidia 6200oc i am using like version 77.78 someting like that. i tried the newest one but man it made it worse and screwed me when i tried to play call of duty so i changed back to the ones on the disc it came with.

The 6000 series seems to be best off with the 8x.xx version drivers.
