Title: Trim tabs?
Post by: pervert on April 20, 2008, 04:10:08 PM
Does the flight model in aces high use trim tabs? Or does it move the main control surfaces to trim? Reason I ask
is that when I trim forwards and backwards the stick moves accordingly. Does the flight model use an all round trimming
system to cover the plane set? I know the 109 didnt have in flight trim for the rudder or ailerons? Just curious  :frown:

All sims require some "slack" when it comes to trim, because in a real aircraft (those that are not fly by wire), the stick is "centered" by control surface forces (which may mean it's pushed to no where near the center of it's travel.)

A spring based stick always centers to center, so the programmer has to take some license in order to make it work.
