Title: Germany Considers Video Surveillance Inside Private Homes
Post by: Sundowner on April 20, 2008, 06:42:32 PM
It seems that governments will spare no resource in their valiant fight to protect us from ourselves.

Regards,
Sun

Changes proposed to the law governing Germany's federal criminal police operations would allow investigators to use wire taps and surveillance cameras in homes of innocent citizens to keep tabs on terror suspects.

Under the government proposals, federal police would be permitted to install "hidden technical equipment, that is to say bugs or cameras inside or outside apartments ... if there is a pressing danger for state security," interior ministry spokesman Stefan Paris said at a news conference on Friday, April 18.

"I would urgently like to stress that there are very, very strict conditions ... and it is not the case that everywhere in this country secret cameras or listening devices will be installed in living spaces," he said. "It is about terrorist threats that would be averted through preventative measures by the federal police."

He added that such methods were already allowed in several German states.....

While smugly patting yourselves on the back, please note that the Patriot Act includes provisions for allowing this here too.  But we've been programmed to dismiss concerns like that as 'reactionary' or 'paranoid', so activate your programs and tell me how I'm a dirty hippy and how I'm trying to help the 'turrarists'  with my unamerican interest in preserving the constitution.

Yep, the Patriot Act is nothing less then something Hitler or Stalin would have thought up.  Every time England or Germany does something like this, it give our government the excuse to do it here as well.

Not to worry...if this type of thing ever happens in the U.S., we can always protest....in the appropriate free speech zone.

You need a lens detector to go with that for hardwired cameras:)

So, you're able to detect 1960s era surveillance equipment! ;)

You can detect anything from a broken heart to the break of day. It`s according to how much scratch you want to put into it and how important it is to you in any particular situation.

Heh, I'm afraid modern surveillance equipment is virtually electronically undetectable. They don't give themselves away by emitting signals.

Heh, I'm afraid modern surveillance equipment is virtually electronically undetectable. They don't give themselves away by emitting signals.

And that`s where you would be wrong. Virtualy everything electronic gives off a signal. You just have to have the right detection equipment. There is some pretty sophisticated equipment out there for the big time boys, but  for most there is a cure and detection. When you get into the laser stuff , etc. , you are going to burn some scratch
A simple little unit such as shown above will detect most of the unprofessional remote wireless video/audio. This is what you will run into for the most part unless you are a high priority on someone`s list you don`t want to be on. :)
When you get into the laser stuff and high end equipment you will pay the price.
Higher end, higher scratch for the cures.
It`s a money game.....like everything else.
Been on both sides of the fence. :)

Example of
simple stuff that can do wonders in the right setting.

This receiver I run two infrared cameras on. Can go to either camera or continuous scan at a click of the remote. Can also be set up in conjunction with motion detection. (Note the audio jack is not connected)  :D
I also have some that the IF cameras can be ran from either 110 or a simple 9V battery for short term use.
Connect the receiver to a laptop and your mobile. :)
Great for the height of moron season when you have things that you are being paid to keep an eye on.
You appear on their location and they don`t have a clue how you knew they were there. :)

Wanna get rid of 99.9% of the terrorist threat without encroaching on Americans civil liberties?  Expel all foreign nationals who require a quart of phlegm to pronounce their names.

Quit being so damned PC people... Sure we have the occasional nutjob outside that BUT if you want to eliminate the majority of the coordinated effort, you have the answer.
