Title: For those who fly the P-39Q...
Post by: Widewing on April 20, 2008, 07:38:40 PM
Here's a handy in-game reference sheet for this aircraft...

All data recorded during testing.

Typo in the maximum speed at sea level section. You've got military power listed twice for the four .50 cal version. My guess is that one of them should be combat power.

Great idea actually! Such a data sheet should be made for all aircraft. :)

Thanks for the catch... It's fixed. Appreciate the comments and eagle eye.

No, at 10k max speed is 375 mph in WEP for the 3 gun, 369 mph for 5 gun.

Speed at 5k is 352 mph for 3 gun.

This isn't a speed curve, it shows best performance only... At all other altitudes, it will be less.

Good Job WW!

The four gun really affects the speed, but not much on turns. Good stuff.

If you take up a drop tank, does that leave you with the bomb shackle speed issue too?

Yes
and i also think without the Dt or bomb, you still are like 14 pounds heavy-er, and assuming, still with a wee bit more drag than clean.

I must be fat.  I was trying to figure out the gondola bug the other night and I got 7459 for the 2 .50 and 100% fuel and 7795 for the 4 .50 and 100% fuel.  No drop tanks.

Big time performance boost from the D vs. Q
it would be one thing if we had the D-2 but our D-1 was a weaker of the D's so..yeah.

Also AW, the .50 cals weigh as does the ammo, so you will weigh more over all with the x4 .50cal package.
Same with the D model, take the 20mm for a wee bit less weight.
