does anyone know why  on the in game display it shows systemmem 2048M when i have 4g of mem? it does show 4g when i boot up the computer. thanks

Because the numbers displayed when you hit Ctrl I are not accurate.
I believe its not AH's fault but the way the information is presented to AH by system or video card.

I've been told that no 1 program can use more than 2G of memory with the Windows XP OS.

I believe 32 bit windows can access 4 gig of ram. That includes everything including the video card.  If you have a high end video card with a gig of ram along side a sound card with ram the numbers can drop to 3 available from your system ram.  do you have an SLI rig?

ok guys thanks, i am using a single 8800 GTX/760 mem. just put in the 4 gig of corsair xms2.

Windows can access and use more than 2 gigs, but no single application inside of windows can use more than 2GB of memory by default.
