"A P-39 can't hold E like that, unless they ubered it up" I get on Ch200. Hmm, sounds like another conspiracy! :noid
...Ok, so, I thought I would do some quick calcs based on my two favorite MA opponents, the N1K2, and the Spitfire XVI.
Lets see, lets try all three at 50 fuel, clean (no gondolas, which I don't use).
P-39Q wing area: 213 sq ft. weight: 7104 lbs. wing loading: 33 foot pounds.
Spitfire XVI wing area: 231 sq ft. weight 6937 lbs. wing loading: 30 foot pounds.
N1K2 wing area 253 sq ft. weight 8660 lbs. wing loading: 34 foot pounds.
No, it seems its just fine as is, the Spit XVI is @10 percent better than the P-39 (assuming equal fuel), and the N1K2 is not as good as either!...and the P-39 has combat flaps as well.
Im nowhere near the skill level some guys fly it but maybe give it a try before just throwing out unsubstantiated "facts" based on rumour, inuendo, and crappy TV shows. ;)

She is a good bird, and can handle either NIK/Spit 16 if flown well. It is a shocker to see the Q keeping in turns at times with some of the better turners in the game. Love that 'zooka in the nose! :aok

It's a flying brick with a cannon attached to it.

I like the P39D my self. I take the 30mm pack and i dont use it till im with in 200 of them. The 2 .50's and the 4 .30's do just fine.
