I have encountered several instances where i will shoot my main tank gun at so called soft targets, wirbles, m8's and lvt's and my rounds hit flat, yet target vehicles is not destroyed or even damaged. My ord loudout is always ap and this seems strange to me since in historical actuality, a 75mm kwk42 would cut these gv's to bits, whereas the 88mm kwk43 would kill a t-34 or sherman at 2000m.

armor piercing is just that, piercing! It blows through light armor and doesn't do as much damage. Use HE for the lighter armor vehicles

I'll agree with OSt. Somethings not right there. Ive had 5 Panzer AP rounds bounce off an M3's sideplate (yes I saw em bounce and hit the dirt). The 6th round on the engine finished the job.

I realize that AP is for armor but i have read accounts of sherman crews who have had 75 and 88mm rounds, unexploded, pass through their vehicles, removing limbs and anything else in their way.Regardless of target softness, a high velocity cannon round shouldnt bounce off a soft skinned vehicle

Like he said use HE and you wont have a problem. AP is AP it makes a hole in the target. Since they are light skined theres not much spray of shrapnel or molten metal to kill the crew (driver).

I dont think it matter. 75mm AP bouncing off by 6mm armour should be like 45 cal pistol bullet bouncing off by papper sheet. I witnessed half tracks survived 75mm HE hits also.
Not a big problem, but still weird imho.
