"xxxx wishes to join you. Use .accept XXXX to accept she/he/it. If you feel you are not accepting enough she/he/it in your everyday life as is, try moving to Southern California or working for the Federal Government."

xxxxxxx wishes to join you.  Use '.accept xxxxxxx' to accept him.

Use '.y' to accept them.

That would save a whole lotta keystrokes.

<edit>

Ok..Use '.y xxxxxx' to accept them.

Use '.y' to accept most recent applicant.

Doesn't work if you get multiple requests.

It was considered proper grammar to use the masculine when gender is not known. Thought we covered this a few weeks ago.

So far as I know, the way we've eliminated sexual bias in formal writing is to make 'she' just as acceptable as 'him,' provided that it is used consistently and in the same way that we use 'him' to stand for anyone.  For example, if I wanted to I could write a whole article that used 'she' and 'her' instead of 'he' and 'his' or 'him.'  Consistency is what matters.

S/he/it is just cumbersome and ugly, and bastardizes English.  Leave this one alone.

Why just not ban the few girls/women from this game? Way easier to implement, and after all it's a combat sim and should not be played by them anyway.

Girls who have any business playing with the boys, do not care that the message will say "type .xxx to accept him" when they try to join them. Or that boys will inevitiably talk about what boys will talk about, etc.
