Title: P47D Hun Hunter XVI (or XIV)
Post by: Spikes on April 27, 2008, 01:51:44 PM
I don't know for a fact what model this was...maybe get some enlightening from WW or someone?
I believe Hun Hunter XIV was a D25. The XVI, a D40.
65th Fighter Squadron/57th Fighter Group "Fightin noodles Airforce"
12th Air Force "Wolf Airforce"

All I have right now...I'm not really good with skinning info...I just always wanted the skin ever since I've watched "Dear Connie"

Definately not a D25. Note the Razorback, so here it would be modeled on a D-11.

I've never seen a wartime photo of XVI.  I'm somewhat of the belief that the guy who has the warbird flying now used XVI as a natural follow on to XIV but I don't know that a wartime XVI existed.

there's a movie/documentary called " Thunderbolt " which shows that plane being flown into combat.

bonus points if you can name the pilot of the plane.
