Well it really all depends on what you have to do with it. I have a Motorola Q and I love it. I can browse the web and it is pretty fast doing it. Some pages don't  interface well with Windows Mobile. Before it I had a HP iPAQ. It was great, too. I really liked the touchscreen. Came in handy when you need a cursor or wanted to hand write something.

I've heard iPhone users brag about how well those work, but I'd wait on a second generation unit with replacable battery and onboard gps.

Cool that gives me some options....I work in the automotive business....I go to auctions and buy cars...
What I want is to do carfax and autochecks on the cars I'm trying to buy....also there are programs
That give me book values of cars...they are updated daily...That sony one is cool but may be a tad to big.
Thanks for you help!! It has to be small enough to carry in a pocket of on my belt like a cell phone.

rpm is correct. Excellent gadget, I love mine. But, wait until July (I think) to get the next gen model. Battery in mine is still good, 1 year later but the next gen will also be 3G instead of GSM. Will work at broadband speed on the AT&T network rather than rely on the barbaric "EDGE" Network that the first gen units use. When on WiFi, the iPhone sails. Not so much on the EDGE network.

:)

You might want to look into Sprints "Unlimited Everything" plan.  It's $100 a month which is a little steep, but really is unlimited everything, including data.  That plan with along with an HTC Mogul or Touch, or the new Instinct thats dropping in a couple months and you would be set.

I gotta tell ya I LOVED my iPAQ. I bought it used and it had some bugs (kept turning itself off all the time), but it was a freakin sweet PDA.

I use AT&T and only have the smartphone unlimited internet plan ($19.99) plus phone service. The PDA data plans start at $59 plus phone service. I've had no problems other than I can't download stuff from AT&T Media Mall, I have to use the internet.

im stuck with AT&T (cingular). I tried verizon, but I live in verizon's dead zone between towers, have to go a half mile just to get one bar.

Can you hear me now?   What?   huh?
