your movies rule
if you could use divX:-D encoding instead, you'd increase quality and get smaller filesizes
I used your films to demonstrate AH to my brother and a few friends; my brother said "wow! and promptly signed up for cable and got a credit card. upgraded his computer to an 800mhz machine as well, to cope with AH. I play with him over LAN now (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif).
Thanks and KEEP THEM COMING!

UGH, I was typing without thinking.
Been setting up a LAN running linux here for the last few days so that word is stuck.
Should have been over the net, sorry (not from his place).
I am getting old and tired, I fear.

(http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif) Unable to play this avi via RealAudio, MS's Media Player nor Netscape and Opera. Codec not found and only Real Media tries to find it.

same same.. no suitable codecs

Try this site for the codecs
DivX Codec (http://divx.ctw.cc/index_main.html)
Sorry about this fellas, guess I should stick with Realplayer?

Ditto to milnko's answer, you'll need DivX installed (and restart your puter) to see the movie.
Milnko, I'm d/ling now, and I'll post tips for filesize improvement when I get a look. What program did you use to compile the AVI?
*S* and regards,
Jay.

That did the trick!!! Thanks.
Once again, awesome work!! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Try this encoder and you won't need any desktop software or have to worry about codecs.

The software will complile to an executable file

Actually I have two programs I use, both able to use DivX, one is Camtasia.......which is good, and Fast Movie Processor 1.41...which is damn good.

*grins* Thanks! I need to figure out a way of capturing in-game footage, it would make some of my life a lot easier. I'm assuming you did it with a TV-out card?
I use (what was) Axogon Composer... nice program being called Mainvision now. Its a little too expensive, so I'm still using the free beta. It's a great alternative to Adobe After Effects.
Still analysing the vid in DivX, I'd suggest you check out [link]www.geocities.com/virtualdub/[/link] for a bit more control over the final product: if you read the Readme with DivX, you'll see some useful info for (ahem) grabbing material from Dvd's that is most useful for making avi's smaller. What sound codec did you use?

Jay.
