Title: Hopeless Romantics
Post by: AWMac on May 21, 2008, 03:10:10 AM
Nothing touches a womans heart like tender love and kindness from her man.
Fireplace, Candles, Flowers and soft Music.
Married 28 Years and still have the fireplace burnin, wicks aflame, Roses bloomin and a song in my heart.
Married the best woman on Earth.
What do you do to keep Love Alive?

If those are cut roses, they do not make up for the carbon footprint of the fireplace and candles.

Bad Mac...  Bad Mac...

Later the Rose petals go into the bath with her along with bath oils.  Talk   Lights out .. candles lit  and sandlewood incense..soft music playing... Makin the wifey feel Special.

Makes for a good comfortable evening.

I thought of all the many games I'd be free to play..

But all I do is listen to the things I didn't say.

It always puts a sparkle in the wife's eye when I've got something hangin' on the meat pole.

Actually Mac, I was in the process of replying, when the BBS went down.

Around here, we refer to what you describe as.... Wednesday. Every Wednesday, it's romantic dinner night. The girls are all fed and put to bed early, and we eat late. As a general rule, it's my show. Though this Wednesday it was an exception where Lacey took care of everything. But it's Dinner with some effort, candels, soft music, good wine, and NO SHOP TALK.

To be honest, of all the things that we do on Wednesday, getting rid of shop talk is probably the most romantic, and the most helpful.

I'm very happy to see someone else out there carrying the torch.

I move anything outta the Living Room that resembles kids, toys, books, crap...ect ..I get this 10 sectional Silk Screen Korean divider and partition the living room. Nice Mother of Pearl table within...candles, flowers, cut fruit.  We have the fire place next to us...lit.  Music..Mood Music..... Our Space.

Lits out, no kids around, just us.

And we talk..hug, share feelings, a nice night.  Maybe massage each others back or feet, hands. Laff and joke... feel comfy.  Never has to end up with sex.  Just to feel each others Heart is good. Like being Young again.

Our own lil World.

We've done this for 28 Years... it works.

SikBoy we did our nights on Friday Nights... no talk of work, relatives, kids...just me and the wifey. Hell I use to slice stawberries for the Champange.  She get buttered after the first bottle... I think it was the strawberries. LOL

We'd have a Korean Yo..*small sleepin matteress* Pillows, nice blankets... just to sit on.

Listen to the fireplace crackle, soft music, champangne, flowers in vases and fruit to eat.

Makes a great night

My wife and I just go sit in our upper den and just talk 1-2 times a week and have some connection time where we get back to just us. With three kids running all over we have to do this or we go crazy. We don't do any elaborate planning or even have a set night we just know that at some point in the week we need to do this.

Man, I am glad my wife doesn't require me to do all that sappy crap to make her happy. No offense Mac, but I gagged a little reading your posts.  :)

If she required you to do it, it wouldn't be at all romantic.

And you'll always be alone... wondering what went wrong.

Spend a lil time with her like this... she'll love it and you more.

I guess if you were a lil more romantic she wouldn't look for Bill, Jim, Juan, Joe, Larry and many more.
