Title: College Bound
Post by: shotgunneeley on May 23, 2008, 05:03:06 PM
I'm gettin ready to go to college and I was wondering if AH could be run on my laptop or does it do better on a desktop PC? If a laptop is all I need then I can save my money for something else instead of a new desktop PC since my old one is nearing on 8 years of hard gaming service.

Now a question for college guys, do any of yall use laptops in class like an all-in-one notebook or do you just leave them in your rooms for homework  and projects? Thanks.

Well I myself will be headed to college as well in the fall.

I already play AH on this laptop already so thats already done.

I myself plan on using my laptop in class or as you put it an all-in-one notebook.

Your $500 laptop is probably gonna have a hard time playing AH.  However, a $500 desktop is gonna do better.  It's really about how much your budget is.

Well Fulmar I paid $747 for my laptop and it plays AH pretty easy with high res and full graphic details and it is loaded with Vista so I have to run AH on 1 core.

While they dont sell my model anymore I bought my laptop from http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/.

$250 can be a decent upgrade for a laptop...more ram...faster processor...better video chipset.

If you want to do well in school, I suggest you stay as far away from this game as you can. :rofl

Personally my laptop stayed in my dorm about 90% of the time, at least during last semester, just for the sake of convenience. Though, during every class there’s always at least one or two people (sometimes more) who bring their laptops instead of a notebook and pen. The semester before last, I had an English class which was called “digital composition” and every student was required to bring a laptop to class. There were no handouts, writing utensils, or paper. Notes were taken via Microsoft Word and papers were handed in via e-mail. It was a pretty cool course.

Now, this is going to hurt, considering I am a huge HTC proponent.

But, you are going to college.  They have girls.  Those are the ones walking around stretching the sweaters and looking good in shorts.

Set your laptop up to study.  Then, Use it to study.  Then, after you study go outside, get some sun, get a tan, meet some people.

When you have Learned what you are paying to learn, meet people and learn some skills, meet a girl or 26, then and only then, take a break and log in, play a game.

After you graduate, get married, get a job, work your tail off and need a break, come back and fly.

Until then, Study, Outside, Girls, rinse and repeat.

K???

I have a desktop, one of the few college students that does. On that note, none of my friends take their laptops out of their rooms. The only time that happened is when we exchanged music, and then everyone came to my room.

Unrelated note, when I came to college, drastically reduced the amount of time I play Aces High. When I had the choice between friends and AH, I alt+f4ed out of AH to hang out with them.

In my opinion, girls are more effective for destroying grades than AH can be.

Everything in moderation, provided your grades are good.

I just graduated last August. I quit playing during the last year of school. School is way more important and building relationships is way more important. Especially nice cute female relationships.

I hear all of yall. I know AH is just a game and there's no way I'm going to let it come between the trinity of school/job/girlfriend. I was just considering those times when I've just taken my girl out, I've crammed my head full of info and I've worked all week to pay for the two above things and I need a break.

When I went to college you could tell who the geeks were.  They wore their calculators on their belts and had pocket protecters.
