Lay carpet in den, hall, and 3 bedrooms.......after mowing the back yard, trimming the hedges, and breaking up the flower bed.

there are better reasons than that to not get married.

Once you are married for a while you will welcome the most dreary tasks so long as you don't have to have her around while you are doing them.  She will leave while you are laying carpet for instance.

My wife and I are going camping for a night, then will spend all day Sunday billing. Monday is American Legion stuff. If I have time I may do a little more raking. Or maybe I'll just lay on the couch.

We'll be thinking of you and the family, Mensa :salute

Grill burgers and make Illinois Style Grilled Corn.

Incomplete EKG & recent blood tests say no mowing the lawn yet.

I don't have a yard so no need to mow the lawn. My list is just one ite long. Clean out he water valve in the toilet. It just started leaking yesterday. All that does is slow trickle water to the bowl so no big deal, I just want to fix it.

After that, kick back, take it easy then I'll taper down from there. Retirement on the road, it's a tough job but somebody's got to do it.

Family-do: Visit graves.

Oh...I don't see this as a down side at all (for Cap1  :salute), at least it's not when our family does it.  Sure, there are those you miss horribly that bring a tear to your eye that you wish were still here...on the other hand...

We try and use it to remember all the good times...like when on our third "date" (high school sweeties), my girlfriend (future wife) and I were studying in her living room (it's halloween)...the doorbell rings and it's her blind Carin Terrier with a sign around his neck that says "Trick or Treat"...within minutes, the doorbell rings again and it's her 93 year old grand mother...she smiles and says "Trick or Treat"...then looks at me with a grandmotherly eye regarding her granddaughter and waggles a swinging finger..."No Treats for you young man!"...in a faint German accent.  I laughed til my sides ached!  :rofl   We go see her grave when we are in North Chicago.  We both cry and then remember that story...how can you NOT laugh. :)

Not only that, so few families get to really remember those who have been a part of our family past.  My sister is an excellent family tree researcher and many times gets requests to research families who on their own can't go back further than 4 or 5 generations.  If folks do not visit and share the stories of their ancestors they might never pass it on to their children.

For one family, she found, had two great-great grandfathers who were veterans of multiple Civil War battles...and survived them all...and that one ancestor was a WWI solder but never saw service---he died in the great Spanish Influenza Epidemic instead.  Great Uncle Died at Duren, Germany and was buried at Maargratten, Holland--his wife is still alive--They never knew.  One distant cousin was a Hollywood actress and TV gameshow staple, and yet another distant cousin was a highly successful country music star.  They never knew.

Without families remembering, sharing, honoring....future generations will never know where they came from.   :salute

No list for me! I'm just dragging her down to Pearl Harbor to go out and see the Arizona, toss a lei in the water for those lying down there, go to the museums around there, perform a ceremony at The National Cemetary of the Pacific, and have a nice dinner and a toast to those who died so I would be free to spend my day like that.

C'mon guys... where's yer Nards???  This happens the same time once a Year!!!  Like Valentines Day.... HELLO???

I fake a bad back injury 2 Days before... lie around moaning like Cleo Patra...the wifey mows the lawn, does the weed eater thingy and waters all the dam flowers I planted in Spring.

Then the Angels descend and lay their loving hands upon me... cured.

I can start the BBQ, reach for meat, drink vast quantities of beverages...

I haven't been married 28 Years for nothing.

 ;)

My significant other went up to visit her Mom this holiday weekend.  I work overnights Thur-Sat so its a bit tough for them to be quiet while I sleep during the day.  I move to a day shift in two weeks, I can't wait...I've been stuck on 2nd and 3rd shift for the past 4 years!

That said, she and the kids are up there and not due home til late Monday night.

I've been cleaning up the garage so I can do some more priming and painting to the droid Sunday.  Finally the weather will be sunny and in the 70s, so the paint should dry fast.  We've had a rut of rain, wind and overcast for the past few weeks.

By time she gets home, ole R2 should finally have some painted legs, feet and front panel done.  The rear skins need more work to allow access to the batteries, charger and power supply.  I hope to have the first droid rolling around on its own power this summer.  You're all welcome to check the blog for progress (see sig).

Unfortunately, my list grew yesterday by about 3 tasks. Apparently I'm getting behind. The only thing I got done around here was mowing the yard and tearing out a fence. I might add, holy crap am I sore this a.m..

Of course I did get the Killions purchased. Moved it from #30 to #3.
