Title: terrains
Post by: flatiron1 on May 24, 2008, 11:21:55 AM
How do you download terrains. When I try to do this from the website the final step seems to be to reinstall AH2. Don't think I really want to do that. Am I going wrong somewhere?

Assuming that you've downloaded the right file (which you probably have), it won't reinstall AHII.  All it does it put the files in the right places.

what happens is I click on the file to download, it brings up the standard run or save window. I hit run and it starts downloading but after downloading the install wizard forAH@ comes up. If i hit save instead of run it will not let me save it in the ah2 folder.Thats where I say to myself something wrong here and cancel it.

As usual I need to say I have vista.

just out of curiousity, when you guys d/l these different terrains, do they get used on your machine ingame? or are they simply for offline play?

thanks!

well of course you can download any of the terains that are in rotation in the ma's if you dont have em saves you time later on when you wanna play especialy useful if youre on dial up.

and some of the terrains i think are being used with the mission editor. (youll need them for some of the available missions people have made)

i belive there is also a terain editor available if you wanna make a specific terrain to go with your missions and you can also create and submit maps to HTC for review and usage in the ma's but i havent seen any new ones yet. (someone get crackalackin the stale maps are killing me) lmao  :rofl :rofl

not saying im gonna try it but id like to fool around with it some, but i hear those HT guys are picky and maybe they wouldnt like my idea of having exploding sheep delivering suplies and parking in front of the vh for 2 hours afterwards. :rock :rock

oh well if it gets used sorry gv lovers  :devil
