The ascent takes 2½ hours, but it will only take 15 minutes for him to return to Earth.

Yeah, like 15 mins. in freefall is quick.

Good luck to him, I hope he makes it.

Oh yea, Bubbles!!!!!!

As my 5 year old would say..."SWEET NIBBLETS!"

Is he trying to break the record of the US Army guy from back in the 60's that jumped from about 100k feet?

I was about to say that the jump would have to be cancelled... I don't need a crystall ball, every attempts by M. Fournier ends like this (bad weather or balloon punctured) then I check on the website and I see that the balloon came loose  :huh. What a bunch of pros!

You have to know that Michel Fournier is well-known in the french para-world... but not for good  reasons. He claims to have 8000+ jumps but nobody have seen him on a DZ except for the odd jump now and then (during which he looks less stable than a newbie with 30 jumps) with the press flashing around like he is Britney Spears new boyfriend. He also claims to have the french skydiving record of altitude but this is an outright lie. This record is still held by the late Patrick de Gayardon.

Michel Fournier is a clever attention-<woman who sells her body to men> whose only success is getting a lot of money by feeding the hype for a completely useless project. I'm also pretty sure that he'll never make the jump (i.e. yesterday, the weather conditions were perfect at the planned launch time but for unknown reasons the balloon filling was delayed until the winds picked up  :uhoh).

At least he's giving the french para community a lot to laugh about.
