High Def Version smokes, Nic!
If that doesn't make you want to fly, nothing will. Really Hot Video! :aok

Thanks Dave. Final HDV version is out, should have finished converting and be ready to view in a couple hours. Fixed a few mistakes made in the previous HDV version.

Great movie man, HD version rocked. :rock

I disagree on your choice of music, but overall it's an interesting AAR/summary-of-mission video! :aok
Couple of things though: The jitters caused by fraps were really bad. Can be eased by only capturing 1-2 clips, closing fraps down, and starting it up again.
And, of course...
I can't help but wonder at my 190 skin shooting down my b17 skin, and then vice versa. Are you harboring feelings of murderous rage towards me? :D :lol :rofl

who doesn't? ;)

Krusty, I'll soon have a separate 500 gig HDD on which to capture Fraps to, will that make the stutter go away? Main reason is disk space but I was hoping it would help with the stutters too.

And, about the music.
There is no message in the music other than I thought it fit the scenario, and that I like the music in itself. The connection or message you see in the music and the film is all in your heads, that's your interpretation of it, while I created it that way it may be for a different reason that what you see. I'm a liberal, last time I checked liberals aren't nazis. While you may still think they are, and you're free to think so in a free country, I really don't have much sympathy for them other than as humans and individuals. Still, I get a lot of disrespect from hardcore allied pilots for flying only german iron. It's rarely openly expressed, but you can feel it's there. Just because JG11 use the emblems of the LW, sometimes even swastikas yes, does it make us nazis? Get over it, is my message. WW2 is not, was not, our war, it is part of our history. A history which I mean, we share together and should learn from. War is hell, and I respect any man who live through it with his wits somewhat intact.
My grandfather and his brother did survive the war, a war they did not choose to be part of, a fight they did not pick. They fought for their own country, nevermind the uniform they wore. There are as many stories of WW2 as there were men and women fighting it. So step off your ego trips and learn the lesson our grandfathers did the hard way!

Edit: NOT directed at anyone in particular, just a general statement.

Sorry, I missed your response!
I don't know if the hard drive will fix the stutters. It seems to be more an issue of memory leaking in either the film viewer or in fraps itself. I tend to lean towards fraps being the culprit.
You have to set up the shot you want, get fraps running, capture it, maybe capture another, but 3 is pushing it. Then shut down fraps (and maybe the AH film viewer) and restart and continue where you left off.
It helps to have your edits planned out ahead of time, so you know exactly what you'll want and you can get it.

Fraps is causing those stutters?
Weird, because I can use fraps for a hour ago, but it's always the same parts of the film that have stutters when recording with fraps.
Yet I never get any stutters when recording while playing the game!
I believe it's the film viewer and not fraps.
-
The film viewer does that to me also, whether fraps is running or not (although not quite as bad). I have a second hard drive and recording to it does not help. When I slow down the speed in the film viewer, it does not stutter at all. So, when I record I slow the speed down to 50%, then speed it back up in the editing software.
I believe it is the film viewer and not fraps also.

I agree. The AH Film viewer (for me) has always been the source of shuttering or jerkiness like that in the film.

I only ever have problems in the film viewer displaying sprites/graphics for the first time. If I play through, get the stutter, then rewind and play again it's no longer there (as long as you don't hit stop).
I only get these massive stutters after recording 3-5 fraps clips (unregistered version) and usually it gets progressively worse. I can then close fraps, close the film viewer, restart both, go back to the exact same spot in the film, and record smooth as silk.
Considering this never happens when running the film viewer alone, and that the stutters get progressively worse the more fraps clips I record in a row, I am drawn to the conclusion that it is mostly fraps creating the problem (but also has to do with fraps and ahfilm interaction, perhaps both want/need the same resource?)
-
What version of fraps are you running? I'm using an older one, 2.8.3 IIRC (full version). Perhaps its a memory leak limited to your version?

I agree, it's the film veiwer, even when useing "camera shots", seems repeated rewinds and moveing thru film along with but not as much, just re-veiwing the film tends to screw the veiwer up and makes it unstable.
i'll get 2 or 3 shots, close AH veiwer, restart it and it's ok, I have never had to restart fraps.
Cutting the film speed helps alot.

Actually, now that I went back and watched the film again I am seeing low FPS capture by Fraps (but I did notice Film Viewer stutterness). Mainly your settings are too high during capture via Fraps/your computer is not fast enough to record with Fraps with at least 30 FPS.

I don't remember what version I have. I started out with an older one, had the same problem, found out there was a newer version, and upgraded to it, and had the same problem.

The AH film viewer has always been buggy. Just viewing films it's not possible to rewind without issues.
