Title: AH Training Squad
Post by: Rolex on June 02, 2008, 09:00:13 PM
An Aces High Training Squad is being formed. The goal is to compress 8 months of overall Aces High experience and information into 8 weeks of structured training. Training will be held mostly in the Main Arenas (not the Training Arena) and comprised of goal-oriented activities. There will be an Aces High Training Corps member present and multiple trainers may participate in some segments.

Schedule: Every Tuesday evening June 10 through July 29 @ 10pm EDT

Plus, supplemental training on other days of the week when I'm online.

This training is open to all levels of players, but limited to the first 28 players. Participants must be subscribers - no 2 week trial memberships.

The squad will rotate countries during the training cycle and all members will be released after completion on July 22.

Training will be comprised of:

- air-combat in a variety of aircraft
- attack aircraft
- bombers
- ground vehicles
- game play, base capture & Task Group operations

Players who complete this training cycle will have a solid foundation in all facets of Aces High and will be excellent recruits for any squad, or competent to start their own.

If you would like to join this training cycle, please post your AH user name in the similar thread in the Help & Training section of the BBS. More organizational information will be posted there, so please check prior to the start date of June 10.

If you need any help let us know on the forums.. Hopefully some of this training with include a little player etiquette training. (ie not being the 5th guy on the gang train, respecting others fights.. ect..ect..)

Overall anything taught that can improve the current MA conditions is a plus.

This could be a very positive thing for the MA.

Rolex,

Would it also be possible to do something like this during a "Euro" Time slot?

Cheers

I understand your situation and wish I could give you a good answer, SPutz. One of the other trainers would have to take the lead on it because my time zone difference prohibits it. I'm GMT +8 in summer and dysfunctional between the hours of midnight and 8 am.

Thanks for all of your support. One of the most helpful things people could do is to get the word out on your country channel. Instead of offering up Alt F4 as an answer to questions by new players, lead them to this training in the Help and Training section of the board.  ;)

Just make sure you go a little heavy on the air combat and a little light on the toolshed terrorizing and we should be ok.  The Bish toolsheds are already scared enough.  We actually have to provide toolshed therapy between attacks.

This sounds like a stroke of genius, best of luck Rolex.  If you need an extra "vet" (even an inept one) and I'm online give me a shout and I'll see if I can't find a way to help out (and possibly undo all your hard work in a single evening :)).

Just like the old AW Training Academy.  I always thought a structured training program such as this was greatly needed in here.
