Us Avengers had some free time last night, before our Jabo runs, to up and get a few good fighter sweeps in. A big salute goes out to all axis we encountered; some very intense high altitude, long lasting furballs insued. Man........have I ever missed my P-38 the last few months! :salute

I speak only on my behalf, but everything is a matter of perspective. I only stayed for two sorties so I may have missed something. I enjoy getting shot down by skilled pilots like yourself and others in a regular fight; however, it is frustrating when the other side all run and land so they can up from the 20K air starts two - three sectors away when you tried to meet them from the nearest air field, thus negating much of the fun factor. Given the circumstances, this was slightly gamey in my limited opinion. If a challenge had been issued to launch from the spawns, it would have been much more enjoyable and I would have stayed longer affording someone more kills. :salute

LOL Halo, you suggest we launch from a base with 10 angry enemy aircraft circling above? We launched from our ground level base until the enemy had an effective cap on our base. At that time I gave the order to use the airstart at the field to the North; at which time we grabbed to 27k while inbd to the fight. I was not surprised to find every one of you guys at 27k as well, nor did I blame you guys for being there.
Remember there are different perspectives on this matter; to me it's not about finding the fight the fastest, but more the art of winning the fight with minimal losses. We fly to win and I do not allow the guys to climb into a fight with experienced Axis killers. My decision kept us from being slaughtered, denied our enemy a clear advantage and allowed for a much better overall fight. :salute

Edited because I am 8-up and can't control my mouse or mind for that matter :D
I suggest nothing, Sir, just offer a different perspectives as I originally said. There were four or five of us about 10 miles east of the lake the time I was talking about, but I get ya, that's why I said "given the circumstances" is all. When the war starts, it's all good. Till, then, have fun in the AvA, that's what I will do in the MA. Hope ya didn't think I was trying to flame, just offering a different take on it is all. :salute

No offense taken at all Halo, it was a healthy presentation of two different perspectives. :salute

A word on gameplay here,...and perspectives.
This is not a Ho, vultch, gang, pick...topic. Use the Search tool for those.
This is also not directed at anyone or anyone squad on either side. Just a thought.
Crappy game play...begets crappy gameplay.
When every engagement begins with the foeman coming straight in for a blatent guns merge, (ie:HO), when foemen run to land a perfectly fine and unengaged a/c, just to airspwan in from 50 miles away, etc, etc, etc...expect frustration on the part of your advesaries. Frustration leads to anger. Anger to mis-judgement, and then retribution.
Frankly it gets impossible to track everyone when, like last night, there are 40 or more players. I'll tell it straight here, last night I was on squad vox with: "If it's not a P-38, expect a guns Ho!"...
And in the event, the statement was shown to be true, sadly. The saddest part is always, some player looking to engage in good game play pays the price for the actions of his lame teammates. Never fails. But do not blame the one acting out of frustration and the proven habits of his advesaries, should you find your A/C broken and ablaze, due to his actions. Frankly why anyone would engage the cannon birds of the LW this way is beyond me, but...it seems almost status Quo lately.
I hope that's all veiled enough to promote positive replies, yet visible enough, to also promote thought.
