Title: B-17F seemed to be a good achievement for the US.
Post by: Rambo Fan on June 03, 2008, 11:28:07 PM
I know the B-17F led to the more upgraded design of the B-17G we fly in aces high. But it would be a good idea to add the ancestor of the B-17G, which did earn its right as the flying fortress. To add to that i thought it was neat knowing that it was outperforming the Douglas, a very small, maneuverable dive bomber used in Aces high. It was a sturdy aircraft able to take serious flame or explosive damage, and could return and land with all this conditions. I don't know what you people think. If you want some more info to convince you, go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B-17_Flying_Fortress. Its a great plane, saw alot of action, dropped more than 500,000 bombs on Germany in WWII.  :)

Well im going to go to sleep, can't, maybe can wait for your replies in the morning.  :salute

Im new so be careful, im new at this sorta thing.

I posted a thread on this before the forums crapped out, but early-model B-17s would be invaluable for the Early and Mid War arenas, as well as AvA, Scenario and FSO play.

I'd say a B-17F for all theaters (B-17G is inappropriate for any Pacific scenario) as well as either the B-17D or E for early PTO setups. Also an earlier B-24, and earlier British heavy and medium bombers.

However there are bigger gaps in the medium and heavy bomber lineup right now--the Japanese, Germans and Russians in particular--that should be filled first.
