Title: USS Sangamon CVE - 26
Post by: Scotch on June 05, 2008, 03:28:35 PM
One of our regulars down at the shop apparently served aboard this ship for a number of years. I haven't talked to him about it much yet because I'd like to find out some more info first. I'll be doing some internet searches today, but if anyone has any good books etc. Let me know. :)

Amazing coincidence, but a german guy just built a 1/72 scale CVE-26
that is absolutely incredible.  Click on the photo to see the construction details.

Wish I could read German. 5 1/2 years of work into that model. Wow.

This ship saw a lot of action! Attacking Japanese airfields.
Numerous air battles. Straffed, bombed, and Kamikaze'd.
