Title: Need some help with a bare-metal skin...
Post by: Serenity on June 07, 2008, 06:08:30 AM
What is the base color you all use for all-metal aircraft such as the B-17? Also, does anyone have any suggestions for making a good alluminum bird? This is my first attempt at one.

I use a gradient fill of greys as a base.

Then whites and blues for highlights.

Get my B-17 template from ah-skins you'll see what I mean.

I've got it, though I don't really see what you're talking about. By the way, you might want to update it, it no longer matches the B-17 file.

Beautiful! And for those of us without PSP...

I use GIMP btw, but I have my hands on a Photoshop CS3 program.

Gimp has a gradient tool...not too familiar with Gimp, but I know it has one.
