Anyone know of any cures for this?
I'm thinking of putting in a new sound card and ditching the onboard sound. Before I spend any more bucks I thought I would ask for help first.
Thanks all.

click on the single speaker down in your task bar at startup..got to adjust audion properties, click voice, and it should lead you through it..

Dont click the HD speaker, just the small gray one.

Or go to control panal, sounds and audio devices and click the voice tab. Then under voice recording select test hardware. It will walk you though it from there. You might want to adjust volumes and see if it works better with or without mic boost (which is in advanced at the volume settings).

Just a sidenote: If the mic sounds tunneled and scratchy, make sure you're not sitting on it.. :devil
