A few years after Erich Hartmann was released from Soviet captivity in 1956, he returned to the Luftwaffe and was put in charge of the first operational Jagdgeschwader of the West German Luftwaffe, JG71. I had found this picture of one of the F86's from JG71 a while ago, but it was in a library book and I forgot to scan the picture before I returned the book. The magic of the internets has once again led me to this picture.

Well if a six + foot tall male red Kangaroo got a hold of ya you would soon wish it was a pink bunny. Plus I don't make fun of any one Else's insignia for country of origin You might think better before you make fun of mine.

About funny air force insignias...somehow New Zealand's insignia came to mind. :D

I really don't mean to offend anyone and I understand that the Kiwi bird is New Zealands national bird and can only be found from the New Zealand (in the wild) just like Kangaroos in Australia. But having a bird that can't fly in an air force insignia is just a tad funny IMO! :rofl :D

While the Luftwaffe scheme is way cool no doubt.
My favorite has always been on the F-86's US Navy Cousin - the FJ-4 FURY - in this case from VMF-232 "RED DEVILS." :devil

Hi Jester,
Photos don't do the Hawks justice having seen them perform. The pic I posted is the closest I have come across to real life.
Nice SKYBLAZER. :aok
