Adonai:
F4U-1A climb rate is roughly comparable to the F4U-1D, so should be Average. Also, the 1A, 1D and 1C all experience a marked improvement in acceleration over the -1, so could probably be listed as average in this category as well.

if i may add a simplified versiopn of this?
the best fighter plane in AH can be virtually any one of the models we get to fly. it is actually the one that the pilot knows how to fly to all of its advantages whilst exploiting all of his enemys disadvantages.
i've seen p40's outfly spits, i've seen 38's outfly spits and hurris, etc.
just my 2 cents. that and $1.25 gets me a cup of coffee at dunkin donuts :rofl

Thats really true, guys like Dastrdly fly a me-110c where its stats are horrible, however when you know your ride inside out - you can
make it dance and pilots like him can make his ride DANCE

yep....kinda like cobia32 in his A20. i friggin HATE him in that. :huh
kiddin..seriously he's good in it. someday, i'll manage to dance in a 38 like some of these guys do.
