Check this vid. I think it’s rather Storm of War-BoB than IL2 but for Xbox? Anyway has nice graphics and maybe it’s the prelude for the BoB.

Game looks, well, what someone would expect from a 2008 retail sim.
My only wish i would like to have from that game (well) are tracers. They look very, very realistic.I don't play with tracers in ah because they look so "gamey".

What's wrong with their Spit V? Looks great to me.
If I had whatever console that's on I'd get it for sure
EDIT: And the ground looks awesome!!

We are not busy with Birds of Prey project. It is third party project under control of 1C. We just gave them full source code and did neccessary consultations.
It looks good, but not like BoB engine. BoB engine it is not modification of Il-2 engine.
Also I tested periodically BoP and would like to say that the contol of aircraft there and FM isn't like in all arcade sim-games, but control aircraft is more easy than in arcade sims... becasue the guys keeping some original physics from Il-2.

You need to look at some actual gun camera footage. The tracers in that trailer look like lasers. Real life tracers look nothing like that, the AH tracers are much more realistic.

:lol
Ok you can keep AH tracers, I'll gladly take everything else thank you. :O
I guess you missed the "this demo does not represent the final quality of the game" and if it did, wouldn't take 5 mins for someone in the mod community to alter the tracers to your perspective of "realistic"
Personally I can't wait to load it up.

Actually, imo the ah tracers are lasers.

The game isn't set to release until 2009. And it's for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

The terrain in that looks amazing :O

No, it looks good. The terrain in this looks amazing, and even more amazing is that whether you are at 500ft or 15,000ft the detail and sharpness remains the same. Images just can't do it justice, simply amazing to fly over.

In my opinion the updated AH planes look better, that terrain on the other hand :O
-
PS3 and Xbox 360 :rofl
I tell ya, if AH had a better lighting system and some better effects, it would look just as good.
-
IL2 looks awsum, as far as a game goes, it sucks.
We could use a tweek in our graphics and effects, sure, but IL2 is very limited in actual game play.

i can see my house!

I'm really not impressed. In fact I was quite turned off by a lot of what I saw. Spit Vs and Hurr Mk.IIBs against 109Es and 110Cs? The ribs on the tail of the hurricanes are super-pronounced, when on the real thing are more like facets than ribs.
On top of that, you see the Hurr2 using FULL rudder deflection back and forth in succession, and all it is doing is making him roll perfectly, no yaw at all. You see a Hurr2 with a large portion of its wing blown away (only the frame visible, seeing through to the other side) and yet the flap behind it is still attached, and the plane is pulling hard moves as if there's nothing wrong. Meanwhile, while hurricanes are slamming rudder nonstop, the spitfires are pulling the same moves with no rudder deflection at all.
The game physics are (as with all IL2) laughably sad.
What *DID* impress me was the advances in lighting. The lighting in the begining and final shots were very impressive, but I don't know if these were in-game cut-scenes or anything like that.
P.S. As for the terrain: It's a step up from the normal Ubi terrain, but still has the same feel of old IL2: generated tiles butting into each other, semi-random patterns but mostly the same. Yes, I agree that this terrain in the footage looked better than AH, but overall that's a minor point when there are so many other problems with the game.

goes to show the amazing work AH skinners put in.

I'm not quite sure I see the link between AH skins and an entire graphics engine on a new game?
