Title: 38s
Post by: Jappa52 on June 11, 2008, 12:20:02 AM
<S> to the Lightening drivers.  Tonight I experienced the type of duel you might see one out of thousand.  Started at 20k+ and slowly worked its way to the deck.  While I didn’t get the chance to land my 109 I consider it a victory.  Fights like that and the feelings experience throughout are why I play this game.  A quick glimpse into the past… I look forward to the B.O.A. and squaring off against you all again.

That would be the 49th Fighter Group you went up against sir.  And might I say you, Bubi and Vater provided excellent partners in our dance in the sky.

Look forward to more of the same.

Jappa,

You had a safe ditch and should have gotten away. I've noticed the arena settings now are that if you ditch in enemy territory the guy that damaged you still gets awarded a kill. I was the P-38 that saddled up slow and low with you at the end popping your engine. I might honestly add, I probably would not have achieved that position of advantage if it wasn't for the fact a squadmate of mine was harrassing you as well, and you could not keep dodging two to three P-38s forever.

You displayed some outstanding flying, and should consider it a victory, despite what the messege on the text buffer said about being shot down.

What Shifty said and more!  I felt sorry for you once your engine was smoked.  then I thought, this guy has got to be dizzy if he's keeping track of everyone chasing him!

<S> on a fight well done against overwhelming numbers!

When the fight first started I was thinking “stay high and stay fast” and I think you guys were trying to do the same since it took a while to work to the deck.  When we started trimming trees and scaring squirrels I thought “ok, use your angles and take em down one by one!” but you all worked out-of-plane with each other which kept me dodging and making it impossible to set up a shot.  And the snap-shot windows were so small that I didn’t connect on any.  It’s very refreshing to fly against opponents who work together so well.  When I was out of options and out of an engine I didn’t ditch because someone deserved a kill after that fight!

If you follow this link and start watching at 3:48 to 4:21 mark you will see what I mean about glimpse into the past… it’s a mirror image of what I saw several times during that fight.
