Title: Obama may not
Post by: wrag on June 11, 2008, 12:34:37 AM
be a NATURAL born American?

http://worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=66787

Seems there is a question about his birth.... as in location of........

Interesting article.

If true, if Obama wasn't born in U.S. then wouldn't that DISQUALIFY him?

IIRC you have to be a natural born American citizen to be president, even though most if not all other offices require only citizenship for a certain period of time.

He is a natural born citizen IF one of his parents was a citizen of the U.S. at the time of his birth....regardless of where they were in the world when he was born.

The media was making quite a big deal about Schwarzenegger many years ago.

Struck me as odd, but when he was elected in CA the media kept bringing up the fact that he wasn't a natural born citizen (he's from Austria) and laws would need to be changed if he were to run for the presidency.

He was a first term "Republican" governor of CA, does this automatically mean he would run for President?

Obama was born on August 4, 1961, at the Kapiolani Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Obama, Sr., of Nyangoma-Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya, and Ann Dunham, of Wichita, Kansas, who was largely descended from pre-revolutionary British settlers to the United States, although her great-great-grandfather Falmouth Kearney emigrated from Ireland in the mid 19th century.

So says Wiki.

Probably all a conspiracy.

That would be hilarious if Obama was not constitutionally eligible to be president.

no way he got this far and hasn't had his background thoroughly researched.

Interesting article, though.  It mentions during the time that Obama was born that the law states he was not a natural born citizen.  It gave specific years to which this rule applied.  Now does this apply forever?  Or would a more loose law that came into effect later (after he was born) take precedent?

Citizen Parent(s)

Citizenship Concerns

A child born abroad to two U.S. citizen parents in wedlock acquires U.S. citizenship at birth, provided that one of the parents resided in the U.S. prior to the child's birth. No specific period of time for such residence is required.

I have one child born in Korea and another born in Germany. Both are "Natural Born Citizens".

Google is your friend.

I just looked it up here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_nationality_law .

And provided what was said about Obama's mother is true, Obama is not a natural born citizen.

Birth Certificates contain much information, i.e.

1.Full name        What if his name is something like Mohammad Barack Hussein Obama 1 in 3 muslims are Mohammed at the time of his birth his muslim father may have named him Mohammed
2.Date of birth         What if he’s not old enough to be president
3.Place of Birth         no problem here
4.Parents names and Marital status,     could be a problem
5.and in some cases Religion.       Again could be a problem
6.RACE             If he was listed as WHITE that could be a problem.

I believe McCain was born on a U.S. Military base in Panama so that would count.

His mom was American, that's all that matters. However, if she gave up citizenship then who knows.

Saw something mentioned in the news recently about both of them being covered by the same ruling about citizenship - Im sure some geek in here will find it if needed
