I and a fellow AHer met at WWII weekend in Reading, PA and saw this plane there. There was no sign around to tell us what it was and that cover over the canopy did not come off the entire time we were there. I believe that the fellow AHer said that he thought it was a bearkat but neither of us is sure. We also could find anyone there that knew for sure what it was. This is the best picture I have of it too.

I dont know... it still looks a little 'off' from all of the Sea Furies I've seen... especailly the spinner and canopy... modified perhaps?

Looks like the propeller has got 2 blades on dkff49's picture, is that normal also ?

I think it's 4... if you take a close look you can see one blade facing directly toward the camera.

ok the perspective got me, its most likely its a sea fury then and it may be under restoration still, that would explain the strange canopy.
-
Some of surviving Sea Furys have been modified for race flying; the P&W R-4360 instead Centaurus and the canopy might be different as well.
-
LOL, it's not a "strange canopy" - it's a protective cover.
It's a Fury - look at the slightly cranked wing and the tail.

I was referring to the size/shape of the canopy, not the cover ;)

Beautiful plane!
Helm ...out

If it's the same sea fury that usually shows at Reading, it's got a Skyraider engine
and prop on it.
-
That cover could be actually a "tent". I.e. it does not touch the canopy so that any dirt left between the canopy and cover would not scratch it.

looks like it has been modified for 2 seats.
