Title: What percentage of your deaths are from a chog?
Post by: SKurj on March 01, 2001, 10:20:00 AM: FOr all the whining, granted its less these days (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif), I thought I would check my stats to see how many times I've died to a chog relative to the rest of the planeset:

196 deaths in tour 13, so far:
killed 16 times by chog
15 by osty
12 by nik
10 by 17
10 by spit9
10 by panzer
8 by lanc
8 by 38

and 2 by chute

Chog doesn't have 20% of my deaths by a large margin.

Deaths by C-Hog about 10.6%

Kill/Death stats vs C-Hog: 32-15
Kill/Death stats vs N1k: 40-15

I was killed more by DHogs and N1Ks.

The plane I had the most trouble with was the B-17.

Next highest was spit: 12% but I seek spits out and 2nd half i just avoided niks...

Of the 14 deaths to fighters, 2 were from C-HOGS.

Post by: Fatty on March 01, 2001, 01:39:00 PM: Welp, 38 of my 175 are from CHogs, just breaking the dreaded 20% mark. But I've no problem with them as the overwhelming majority of those are taking off from vultched fields.

Thank you for asking this insightful question. I think if most people stop and think about it most of the C-hog deaths occur when that "Blue Spectar of Death" catches you low and slow.

31 of my 232 deaths are to the C-hog
25 of my 232 deaths are to the N1k
18 to the Spit IX
17 to the Ostwind
and 12 apiece to the Ship Gunner and B26

That comes out to percentages of:
C-hog = 13%
N1k = 10.77%
Spit IX = 7.75%
Ostwind = 7.32%
Gunner and B26 = 5.17% each

Obvious answer here is to perk the ostie and the ship gunner. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) Besides the fact that I just plain suck in fighters. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

It also shows that while I killed more Knits than cRooks this tour, I also died more at the hands of the cRooks than I did to the Knits. Hmmmm...what exactly does that mean? Obviously the cRooks must be better pilots than the Knits. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

***however***

they were also my most common prey at 13% of my total kills

11 times by chog=20% (duh)
only other planes that came close was spitIX (7deaths) and ostwind (4deaths) .
I think alot has to do with fighting style . If you fly to defend against attackers, like they did in real life . You will find yourself fighting hords of chogs that are attacking fields and strat . Since the popular offensive tactic seems to be "hey everybody grab chog jabos and lets take a field" .
