Boom then "you have died" message, not "you've been killed by *" message? That happened to me in last weeks FSO, I was RTB on the deck in my SBD, I had to deploy my left flap because my right was missing, if my flap was up, I would roll heavily to the right. I also had a pilot wound. I was going about 30 minutes on auto-pilot, flying perfect, then I just blew up and appeared in the tower. I had two friendlies directly above me and I was constantly checking the area around me, nobody could have shot me.

I thought you died after you have a pilot wound for a while, the longer you have one the more frequent the blackout until you die. At least I thought this happened, Its happend to me before.

Yep, thats what happens. You bleed to death.

Look. If you read the post, you did not see pilot wound. There was nobody close and did not engage. The game just killed me 3 times/

I was referring to EskimoJoe's post, who was trying to relate with a similar story.Boom then "you have died" message, not "you've been killed by *" message? I almost thought I had the same deal the other night but I realized I was in a Spit XIV and the thing was so damn fast I broke the wings off it. Nothing like what happened to you though. Just thought this was a good time for a hijack.

I've experienced something similar in the past. RTB and then on descent all of a sudden boom. No enemies, no pilot wound nothing. A friendly who was in the area later told me I was hit by flak. An enemy CV just started firing and got me in its first salvo . Talk about bad timing :D.
There wasn't a enemy CV in the area was there?
:salute

now that he looks back he remembers a cv on top of a mountain.

even more fun is decide to film some bombers in flight, take off in a direction away from the fight, autopilot on, go do some stuff around the house, and find yourself in the tower courtesy of some hunter in a blow dryer :D

This happened to a buddy of mine on the runway in a spitfire. He had landed, came to a stop (uninjured and undamaged), was about to end his sortie and he just went up in a cloud of smoke and got towered out. It was really, really odd.

I remember some one saying that there was a problem with one of the custom sound packs and spits would blow up like that.
