The ham and eggs that came in the vietnam era C-rations were ok, unless you got a bad one, they suxed cold though. The bad ones were like greenish/grey in color and stunk as soon as you opened the can. I've still got about 50 "John Waynes" both the small field ones and some of the mess hall big ones. :)

The one almost no one liked was the lima beans and ham. I practically lived on the chopped eggs for about 3 days. I got a case of c's that wasn't as vairied as they were supposed to be. It was almost all chopped eggs and not many folks would trade. :(

Man I liked C-Rats... Chopped ham and eggs were the best. I didn't care for the pork slices.

I liked the pork slices. I also liked the beef and potatoes, as long as I could heat them up. If you had to eat them cold there was a half inch of solid grease on top of the can. Cold canned potatoes are kind of nasty too.

Yep we used to place them on the exhaust of the 5KW generators to warm them up...had to punch holes into the cans or they'd explode if overheated...
BAM!!!! so much for Dinner.

i found this site: http://www.mreinfo.com
