Title: Black outs
Post by: angelsandair on June 15, 2008, 12:18:28 PM
How about when you're wounded and you black out, it acts different every time? Just some slight adjustments, like you only SLIGHTLY black out, or you end up having your head rested against the front, your pilot while blacked out pushes the stick foward and causes you to auger some times?

I like our pilot wound thing here, just asking to change it up a little. I always know what to expect.  :D  :aok

I agree.  It would add a real challenge to not know how your wound is going to effect you.  As it is, I simply hit auto pilot as soon as I start to pass out.

Suggestions:
Vary length of time (3-7 seconds)
Speed of loss of conciencence (from the current to almost instant).
Loss of being able to swivel head on all directions.
The longer a pilot wound is evident, the longer and more severe the handicap.

Good idea. We could build on this. How about making controls sluggish or non-responsive due to an injury, like say, loss of rudder due to a leg injury? The same thing could be done with pitch and yaw. Would make things interesting.

Well, we could add another small chart right? CTRL+D makes the list or chart of the working and non-working parts of the plane right? What if we added a small list on the right GOING:
Head
torso
left arm
right arm
left leg
right leg

And if it hit your head, your STRIKE 3!dead...

Since the smallest round we use in here is a high velocity 30 caliber, I'm thinking
any direct hit would be very very "uncomfortable" for a crew member.

If it hit's your head your already dead in the game! That's how the instant deaths come about. Pour lead into cockpit i'd say 90% of the time the pilot dies instantly. It's when your trying to hit from different angles that he take secondary wounds.

That's why on bombers you try to get an angle to hit straight into the cockpit, killing the pilot instantly.

Yep, that's what I usually aim for. You can usually get a quick kill w/ .303s too.  :rock

Quick question about PWs. If you look back and use the arrow keys to look around your seeat to see who's behind you, can you get PW'd more easily then if you don't look back? OR, is your head always fixed in one spot no matter where you look?

Would that be hard to model though? If not then I bet so, if it is, then I'm thinking your head stays in the same place.

Do you really love that, or the fact that you survived a 30mm hit?  :)

Anyone else thinking we should add a cup holder and maybe a high corn syrup with caffeine Mocha just so we don't tick off the General about being hyper? Maybe we can get him a cup holder with beer?!  :D
