I'm sorry Indy... but I loved Sweeney Todd. I'm not usually a musical fan, but this one was great. Not many movies appeal to the dark humor side of me.
I'm still holding out for the new batman however.
-
None.
-
Not much to choose from yet. Id say The Mist. Until The Dark Knight comes out.
-
Iron Man trumped Indiana Jones....although both were good. The story line in Indiana Jones seemed dated: Jones searches for ancient artifact; bad guys try to keep him for finding it; he finds it anyway; they take it from him; he takes it back; they re-take it from him; rinse and repeat. Bad guys get zapped and or dissolved by ancient god/demon/alien and help Jones prevail.
-
I forgot about Iron Man. I wana change my vote. I want a recount!
-
I would just like to see a movie that isn't comic based or is a sequel to a movie made during the technicolor years. Something new and fresh, totally original.

Not to mention the entire movie looked like it was setting up for Indy sequels for years to come.

Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Dont think I've seen any movies from this year yet.
I only go to the movies to see epics.
And now with a 50" TV I dont even do that.
I just wait for em to come out on DVD

That's more or less what I do. Only if it's a movie that I have to see, which has not been for quite a while now, will I go to the movies.

Iron Man! I just love its mecha aspect
I watched that movie in one of the most advanced digital projectors available in Las Vegas :rock

btw looks like Hollywood is saturating us with comic based movies this year. They might even start milking manga titles by 2009/10.
-
If there is any new movie that can beat How She Move in quality of plot, cinematography, editing, soundtrack, or anything, it is news to me. It is truly a celluloid masterpiece worthy of a place next to such greats as Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Chinatown, and Apocalypse Now.

Did their budget run out of money for an extra 's'?
-
For last year though I have to say that Across The Universe sort of blew me away.
-
My vote would go with Dirty Asi.... oh wait....
-
Please....PLEASE.....NO ANIME BASED MOVIES!! :cry :pray
-
According to Meatwad, it's hentai based, not anime.

Close to the same thought myself.
Seems more or less like a xomplete lack of original ideas in hollywood these days
-
Transformers was good to. Cant remember if it was this year or last.

There are some advantages though...
Watch The Departed. Best drama i've seen and was directed by M. Scorsese. This one's a fine example of a very gooood adaptation. It was a remade of China's [i[Internal Affairs[/i] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infernal_Affairs)
-
missed Ironman so THIS year was Indiana Jones because it's the only movie I've seen at the theater. Last year it was I am Legend followed by Transformers

too late :P Hollywood found their latest cash cow.
This one's scheduled for 2009

Based on a 2,000+ page manga and an anime in 1988 that's very advanced for its time (super-fluid motions, 160,000+ animation cells, ultra attention to detail without the use of CGs, and complex plot/characters)
Here's the director's short preview of what's to come...

Sex and the City

I think my favorite of the year so far is probably Rise Of The Footsoldier.

I am Legend sucked, it was further from the book than the Omega Man.
-
Ironman, with Indy a close second.
-
Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Gets my vote. :aok
-
"There Will Be Blood" - 5/5 :aok
The musical score was outstanding and one of the best I've heard from any film.
-
My vote would go with Dirty Asi.... oh wait....
III or IV? V lacked substance if you ask me.

the new Rambo movie kicks royal butt. I'm an action/war kinda guy so this movie is just right.
