Post by: RightF00T on June 17, 2008, 01:27:30 PM
Don't go see it...worst movie ever and worst M Night Shymyland movie I've seen(that's not saying much)  The cause of the "attacks" will leave you  :huh and pissed off.

If this thing is just a public service announcement about air pollution masquerading as a movie then I'm probably gonna take your advice.

I especially appreciate how the US is the worst, with the French coming in second. Really really insightful commentary.

For those of us that don't watch his movies would you care to elaborate on the cause of the "attacks"?

LMFAO....GTO summed it up  mostly....when the basic premise is typed out you realize how really ridicolous it is.

Then they should have cut down all the trees and replaced them with plastic ones....what a dumb arse premise for a movie.

Angry trees giving off a deadly toxin that makes you lose the will to live.

That's lame, but the first thing that came to mind, (after vowing to not watch this movie of course), was the following "Deep Thought".

“If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.”

Looks like a story like Homer would tell, told in a modern setting.

Not if you are a tree hugger.  Then it's better than Citizen Kane.

Homer told a much better story than Night ever could.

have not seen it. (and will not)

It would have been awesome if in the end it showed a few fighter jets fly low and drop napalm on some forest somewhere.
That way everyone can be thrilled pissed and disapointed.

Yep.. Just un-slanting the critics' perspective.  I can't stand some of Night's signature touches, but seeing the story for what it is makes the movie enjoyable rather than unbearably incoherent.
