Greeting Earthings.... :salute
I got an x45 about a month ago and I'm just not getting used to it very well.. I really miss having the twist control on the joystick. I don't use the little finger rocker underneath for the rudder. I switched it to one of the thumb wheels. However, it's just not working out and my playing is suffering badly.. I'm sure if I had rudder pedals, it'd be a different story, but I don't... So, can I use my old Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro with the throttle from the x45? I haven't even tried to hook them up together yet.. I have Gameport to USB converters for both.. Is this possible? I think i'd do a lot better if I had my old stick.. This X45 is just too bulky and it's too much stick to move around IMHO

Should be no problem to use them both at the same time. I have a Saitek Cyborg Gold USB and a X-45 plugged in. From the X45 combo I use the throttle only and the Cyborg for stick inputs.

I did it with my X52 awhile back when it broke, I used the throttle from the x52, and a cheap-o for flight controls. Just make sure you set all the button and axis correctly. :salute

Ok, I'll definitely try it. I just can't hack not have the rudder control on the stick.. Really ruining my game.. :(

Anodizer try a search on Ebay for a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro 2. You should be able to find one for less than $20. The later versions were produced with USB plugs.
The stick has a twist handle and throttle lever, along with 8 inputs. The handle is compact and the performance is extremely smooth> Should you wish to marry that stick with an X45 throttle, you shouldn't have any problems.
Good luck.
