Title: Any of you knuckleheads have a degree in IT systems?
Post by: Ripsnort on June 19, 2008, 01:32:17 PM
We need an IT guy, C++ or better, Java, VB Scripting. You'd be working for me.  :devil
Alot of testing involved, and you can bet on OT. This is a salary job, so OT doesn't pay well (Time + $6.50)

PM me and I'll give you the rec number that you can access from the Boeing Employment page.

Man,
It would be awesome to work for Ripsnort.   Surf and play games 7:45 a day then do 15 minutes of work and go home…  Or would I have to do the 15 minutes of work first thing and then play?  Would I have to do another 15 minutes of work when overtime starts?

Its in your face but you cant grab it
Its alive, afraid, a lie, a sin
Its magic, its tragic, its a loss, its a win
Its dark, its moist, its a bitter pain
Its sad it happened and its a shame

If you want IT, here IT is
Come and get IT
Make your mind up fast

If you want IT anytime I can give IT
But you better hurry 'cause IT may not last

Did I hear you say that there must be a catch?
Will you walk away from a fool and his money?

If you want IT, here IT is
Come and get IT
But you better hurry 'cause IT's going fast

If you want IT, here IT is
Come and get IT
Make your mind up fast

If you want IT anytime I can give IT

Did I hear you say that there must be a catch?

Sonny, if you want IT, here IT is
Come and get IT
But you'd better hurry 'cause IT's going fast
You'd better hurry 'cause IT's going fast

Woo, fool that is money

Sorry, if you want IT, here IT is
Come and get IT
But you'd better hurry 'cause IT's going fast
You'd better hurry 'cause IT's going fast
You'd better hurry 'cause IT's going fast

Management has its privileges, even at the project management level. :P

Notice that he didn't comment on living in a carpeted garage with 4 Mexican families cleaning camera equipment...

I cannot discuss salary range, but let's just say that it's a comfortable living considering its a level 3 job.
Yes, in Seattle.

You'll have to apply via the Boeing Employment website (have a resume ready) on July 3rd with a req number (that I will provide via PM)

Job security is pretty good in this group, as we're a fairly new application(s) and the 787 program is dependent on it for aircraft parts reconciliation.

My grades were better than a C+ average, but I don't like coffee.  Damn the bad luck.

I cannot discuss salary range...
You must just surrender your Passport and any other identification you may have.
But the pay is good.

*Red Flag up*

What's yer cut on this Rip?

*on a different note* Did anyone see on the news that severed feet still in tennis shoes were washing up on the shores?

Just curious, would they hire a foreigner if he otherwise qualified or over-qualified?

I'm not sure Moot, but nothing prevents him from applying for the position to find out.  I worked with a fellow 9 years ago who had a temporary visa and worked for the Boeing company.

Mac, I get nothing out of it for about 6 months. After the knowledge transfer time, then I get a programmer/developer who's competent enough to help our team keep on schedule and on budget.  One of our most brilliant developers is putting in 60-70 hours a week, and we need help.

Rip, is this a permanent position, or one that is only going to last as long as the 787 developement? I mean, you aren't looking for a job again in 4-5 years?

Software continuously changes. If you're in the IT business you know nothing is permanent. If you're a sharp tack, IT management will always find another project for their developers/programmers.

That said, the application we support is a production support system that will have legacy value.
