I want Powell to run with Condi as vice-president.

Tell me, just tell me that wouldn't win over any other candidates.

I was begging for Hucakbee from the go so I'd love to see him actually get the nod.

The only one on that list I see having even a remote chance is Powel.
Possibly with Huckabee as VP

Rice I think rubs too many people the wrong way to be a viable VP.
Plus she's black.
I think the people would accept a black Pres. or VP.
but not both

the problem for mccain is one of perception.  it's the same thing as kennedy v. nixon.  it isn't going to play well for mccain on television.

for this reason, vice presidents can help...for instance, i think that condi could hold her own against mccain...but she is going to be seen as a "staffer" not as a power player.

i don't think that condi would beat obama on the mat.

the only person out of that list that really has even the slightest possibility for being either vp or pres against obama, is powell.

i can't see any other person on that list that EVERYBODY can get around.

i'd love to see him do it.  love it.

Powell is the only one of them worth anything that could possibly pull any swing voters. That's the key, the only way a Republican or a Democrat will win is by pulling the most swing voters. Powell is the only one that I'd even consider voting for and before the Iraq fiasco I would have defiantly voted for him. Himself and George Telnet were the only one's with the President's ear that stood up and said Iraq should not be the target. Then at the last min Powell caved in and made his speech at the UN. That made me lose a lot of respect for him because he damn sure knew he was supporting a BS war.

Rice not a chance in hell, she should be rounded up with the rest of the Wolfowitz/Chenny/Rumpsfield gang and hanged for treason to the nation.

Romney & Huckabee.. well there is a reason they are no longer in the race..

Bloomberg.. yea right..

Crist.. he's my Governor yet I wouldn't know it.. WTF has he done.. nothing.

The rest I have no clue who they are..

They just haven't caught him in the local parks restrooms.. Rest assured I'm sure it's gonna happen sooner than later. There is a lot of talk about him being a closet case homosexual.

What is intriguing is, if Powell ran, race wouldn't be a factor. More intriguing  is why? Most intriguing is the answer. Powell is not a smart black man. He's a smart man and a undeniable patriot. Obama is the Oprah Black President. What he stands for or will do is secondary.

do you think you powell proponents might be just thinking that it takes a black man to beat obama?  I would vote for powell but I would also vote for anyone over obama and not because he is black but because he is poison.

Quick!  Let's ignore a candidate's stances and vote for him because he seems like an upright sort of fella!

I, for one, will laugh in the face of any republican that votes for Powell.  I will laugh in their face any and every time they complain.

I don't think the fact that Powell is black would matter to anyone but devout racists. How many people ever saw him as  "thats Powell, our *black* secretary of state"? That a huge difference from Oprah's Black Presidential nominee.

The media has always been racist. Its not even 50 years ago where newspapers like The New York Times would describe crime suspects as a "crazed negro." The media is still overtly racist. The only thing that has changed is their racial stereotypes. Its no longer the "crazed negro" but the redneck ignorant cracker. How is that any better?

IMHO I don't think he would accept it!

Think he is smart but also he probably KNOWS some things about the D.C. crowd that we don't.

AND because he KNOWS things he may have decided he wants NOTHING to do with what he sees?

You gotta be on crack.. Gingrich was literally on drugs while he was the house speaker. The "only" thing he has going for him is his hooker was a woman and not the party's typical flavor (gay homosexuals).  :rofl

No one in their right mind would put him up front of the Republican party, I damn sure know the GOP wouldn't. They aren't that dumb, Republicans would have a better chance putting up what's his name Ron Paul..
