Gloucester Teens Had Pact To Get Pregnant
Keller Blog: Kids Having Kids
GLOUCESTER, Mass. (WBZ) ― There's a stunning twist to the sudden rise in teen pregnancies at Gloucester High School. Seventeen students there are expecting and many of them became that way on purpose.
Time Magazine first reported that nearly half of the girls confessed to making a pact to get pregnant and raise their babies together. None of them is older than 16.
Schools Superintendent Christopher Farmer told WBZ's Bill Shields Thursday the girls had "an agreement to get pregnant."
Farmer said these are generally "girls who lack self-esteem and have a lack of love in their life."
"The common threat is the lack of self-esteem and purpose in life, and a lack of a sense of direction," said Farmer. "Young women wanting and needing affection."
Principal Joseph Sullivan has not returned calls from WBZ for comment.
Sullivan told the magazine that the pact wasn't the only shocking incident.
"We found out one of the fathers is a 24-year-old homeless guy," he told Time.
How many generations since the 'war on poverty' have been raised by mothers such as these? Public stonings don't seem all THAT bad.... :cry

That's just really, really sad. We should throw more money at them, it's worked in the past...not.

Purpose. It does the average joe good.

In Portland here a few months back some high school kid, rides his bike wearing an ipod, runs into the side of a city bus and gets his head squashed. The mother is now suing the bus company for $2mil. This country is going to hell in a handbasket. But at least it will be an interesting ride, fun to watch as well.

We are seeing history repeat itself as it has happened in the past.Great cultures, leaders, etc. become stagnant, and weak, and then fall. The USA is rapidly declining, and it bothers me to think of all the sacrifices that have been given,so that we can watch are country unravel.

not sure I understand the outrage.. this is a normal behavior for a lot of "kids" these days and we support and encourage it with our tax money on a daily basis.. is it just that they have the guts to admit their goal in public or that there were more than a couple that agreed to do it at the same time that bothers people?
This is perfectly legal and simply a "life choice" that we all support. We should simply pay the money to them like we do every other fatherless family and shut up about it.
