It's been said before, some planes which are externally quite similar have different icon names, and now to make matters worse there is the Fw 190D-9 that is externally dissimilar to the A/F, and yet it has the same icon name!
MC.202 = 202
MC.205 = 205
These must be changed to read the same thing, MCHI or MACI(Macchi) perhaps?
La-5FN = LA5
La-7 = LA7
I suggest a change to simply LA, since all of the radial engined La-X fighters are virtually identical in external appearance.
And finally...
Fw 190A/F = 190
Fw 190D = 190
The Fw 190D is often refered to by Allied airmen as the "long-nose" Focke Wulfe - seems they had no trouble with getting an ID on it, but in AH you have to see for yourself. Change it to read DORA maybe?

Agreed!

I also agree.
Change the FW190D to read "190D" or "DORA".

Or.. we could just not have icon names. Then the easy to distinguish planes will be easy to distinguish, and the dificult will be dificult.
The truth be told, I always assume a 20x is going to turn and am usually prepared to deal with it. I alway assume a 190 is going to run like a little LW girl and am usually prepared for it. Most of the rest affects me very little.

Yeah, but if you're in a 202 on someone's six, you want them to be scared.

Yup the dora is distinctive. needs its own handle

How about we just disable all this plane icon crap and enable only country icon (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Speaking of icons. I just recieved this from an anonymous informant who grabbed picture this from a PC running a special edition "13TAS" AcesHigh ver1.06.1.
I am appalled to say the least. It'd had better cost them a few boxes of Twinky'sto say the least.
Sure explains a few things now. I think it's a screen shot from Sax's pc personally.
