Title: How does "maneuver kill" work?
Post by: ZOSO on January 22, 2001, 10:10:00 PM
Three specific instances.  The first two were 1v1 vs spits, nobody else around.  In both these instances I never hit them, but they both crashed into the sea close to me.  No kill was awarded to anyone in both of these cases.  In the third case I was chasing a goon on the deck.  He crashed into the sea (on purpose?) and I was awarded the kill.  I never fired a shot.

I guess I want to know why I got the kill for the goon but not for the spits.

Yup, what Cit said.  I've watched as many as 4 bandits all the slam ground, all less than 1k from me, and no other friendlies within 5 miles and NOTHING.

But let me slam the ground exactly 2k from a bandit and he gets the kill every time.

When I actually get a maneuver kill I'm usually so stunned that any bandit behind me get a straight flyin target to shoot or I CFIT.

From what I understand, you have to be within a certain range of them crashing, they can't have any damage from someone else's bullets (who is still alive), and they must be in your territory.

I could have made up any or all of the above, but that's how I think it works.

Ok thanks, I think that explains it.  My fights with the spits were in enemy territory while the goon crashed in friendly territory.  I really don't think that should matter, but that's another post.

Zo I personally think you shouldn't get awarded ANY kills. They should all come to me.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
